Stress head!

This week for some reason i've had a lovely visit from Mr Anxiety, so it hasn't been the best from me. I thought i best make the best out of a bad situation and turn it into a blog post somehow. So here are my top tips for stopping your stress!

Dinner dates:
Today i finished school at 11 and decided to pop along to the Metrocentre: A hugeeee shopping centre near me, i met my mam for a bite to eat, we went to the cafe in Marks and Spencers (i would never have thought of going there before!) and it was lovely, i chose to have a beef and rocket baguette, greek yogurt and granola and a latte! It was delicious however i did decided i didn't like horse radish! YUK!
Window shopping:
Saying as it's one week away from payday, naturally i'm skint! So i took it upon myself to do a bit of window shopping. While strolling through the shops, to be honest i didn't find a lot of things that completely wowed me (i think this is because it's the change of season!) But i did find this very pretty perspex embellished clutch bag from River Island and i thought this would be perfect to pair with an all white outfit to add a bit of colour! You could place a small colourful makeup bag in there if you're not too sure about the whole see-through issue!
Clear your mind:
When i'm stressed i find the best thing to do is free your mind of all minor facts that have built up and are making you get worked up! The best way to do this for me is to get some fresh air, even if you just go for a small walk- if you're not into that you could even just have a bit of me time in your bedroom listening to some chilled music i found this playlist of some current 2014 chillout songs on iTunes. Me and my friend Rebecca decided to go on a bike ride as it was slightly sunny! I think cycling is the perfect thing to do as i find it enjoyable and keeps you fit at the same time! We decided to go to the local duck pond and followed a path alongside the river Tyne!

Pamper night:
There's no better remedy to relax than running yourself a red hot bath (you know those baths when you get out resembling a walking, talking lobster?) so while i was window shopping i bought myself a bath bomb and ran myself the hottest, bubbliest most relaxing bath ever! Your mind can't be relaxed if your body isn't! I used my favourite Soap and Glory sugar crush body exfoliator and applied my Sanctuary Spa thermal detox mask, laid back and closed my eyes for five.

Now i'm going to curl up on the sofa and watch a funny upbeat film to keep me in my chilled mood. You definitely can't forget your movie treats as well! What's your favourite things to do to chill yourself out?

Audrey Hepburn (breakfast at Tiffany's) inspired look

As this is my first try at an 'inspired look' i thought i'd go for one of my all time favourites- Audrey. Now i know tons of people in the blogging world have probably already done this and i am in no way at all a makeup experts, but i thought i might aswell give it a try, why not ey?

I started off by applying simple oil balancing moisturizer which mean ti didn't feel the need to use a primer. Then i applied my base of Rimmel wake me up foundation and Collection lasting finish concealer. As Ms Hepburn has extremely beautiful cheekbones i contoured mine using the Sleek contouring kit and gently brushed it along my cheekbone line making it gradually darker the higher up the cheek i got, then adding a small bit of blusher to add a bronzed glow and to slightly contour the nose. For the blush i used a Natural collection mineral blush in quite a dark pink shade as i wanted the main focus to be on the contouring. When it came to brows, i found it hard to imitate Ms Hepburns statement winged look, i made the first part of my brown quite thick and then just winged out the ends in quite a straight and blunt line using my Kelly Brook brow kit.

Then for the eyes. I primed my eyes with the Too Faced shadow insurance and used Foxy from the Urban decay naked palette as a base all of the way around my eye. I then used the colour tease to boldly contour the natural curve of the socket, i didn't need to blend this a lot so i used a blending blush to apply bootycall in the inner corner of the eye and blended it slightly into tease, i also put it under my eye along my bottom lash line. I then used mac gel liner, now i don't often use gel liner as i find it quite fiddly and messy but this was perfect to replicate the thick winged cat eye that Ms Hepburn always has! As Audrey's eyes still seem perfectly bright i used a white Bojours eyeliner along my bottom waterline to make them seem larger and sparkle. Naturally i have an extra set of eyelashes on each eye (lucky me) i didn't think i needed false eyelashes as i can get a full look quite easily, so i curled my eyelashes and applied Maxfactor excess volume- using only step 1, and then applied Maxfactor's 200 calorie to thicken my lashes up.
For lips i wanted to keep the look quite nude but with a hint of colour to compliment the cheeks. I used my favourite Fearne Cotton lipstick (which doesn't have a name!!) then added a peachy colour lipgloss over the top.

I hope i did a good job on my first try and this is the finished look! I'd love to do more of these so please let me know what you want to see. All of the shades of products i've used are below:

New obsession: Triangl swimwear

Now as you may or may not know i'm obsessed with all things summer, it gets to around about the end of February and i expect the weather to change immediately, the jumpers get shoved in boxes and i whip out the sunglasses and bikinis. So when i stumbled across this brand on Instagram i fell in love! I have never heard of Triangl before but it's pretty amazing, as far as i know they sell underwear and swimwear- but nothing like you've ever seen before. I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea but i absolutely love it and there's such a selection to choose from so i thought i'd share with you my top 3 picks:

DAKOTA SUPERFLY

NEW YORK NOIR

PENNY WANDERLUST

These bikinis range from around £35-£50 pound on average.

The signature tag

I've seen a few bloggers doing this posts and i thought it was such a good idea to introduce yourself to the blogging world- so i decided to give it a go. Basically you answer questions based on your 'signature' possessions/looks/personality etc..

1. Signature hairstyle?
I definitely have to choose 2, depending on my mood so i'll go for a messy bun or messy curls.
2. Signature scent?
Now this is a bit weird but i love One Million aftershave (yes aftershave) i think it's such a fresh scent and lasts foreverrrr.
3.Signature nail polish?
This was a tricky one because i'm forever painting my nails! But at the moment i'm loving Barry M- Prickly pair, i think its such a cute colour for spring.
4.Signature outfit?
I'm obsessed with my waxed jeans and just pairing them with a baggy tee, also i always throw on a little shift dress if i'm going to work or going out for lunch as i think it just makes me seem more dressy.
5. Signature shoes?
Saying as i'm 5ft 1 i like to wear heels, at the moment i'm loving my black heeled chelsea boots from New Look but i'm on the look out for some new summer heels so please let me know!
6. Signature lipstick?
Now this is my issue. I've had a lipstick for about 2 years now and i got it in a Fearne Cotton set from boots at Christmas, it's such a beautiful nude colour and applys so nicely BUT it doesn't have a name! I KNOW! so apart from that my other at the moment in MAC- snob.
7. Signature colour?
As i've said in all of my previous 'tag' posts i don't have a favourite colour! But i'd have to say my signature colour is lime green, i don't know why but i'm always attracted to it!
8. Signature quote?
"No i don't want to be part of your super secret boyband."- Iron man 2.
9. Signature brand?
For makeup id have to say Rimmel and for clothes as much as i shop in New Look, if i had the money i'd constantly shop in Zara.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little more, please comment me yours below, i'd love to get to know more people in the blogging community! I TAG YOU ALL!

5 a day: basic make-up

When it comes to weekday mornings, the last thing i think about is my appearance. After staying up until stupid o'clock rushing essays, working or blogging the night before i'm practically a zombie by the time 10 to 7 arrives. So i just throw on my basic makeup, a spritz of hairspray and i'm out the door! I thought i'd share with you my '5 a day' top make-up picks for the perfect base/ everyday makeup.
First of all i apply a thin layer of Rimmel Wake me up foundation- i love this as it gives you such a natural glow which makes you look so much more awake! Next i apply my Collection lasting perfection concealer, this is great even to use as an under eye concealer or highlighter as it's amazing coverage and is only about £2.99 (i know!!) I then set my foundation with Rimmel stay matte powder, mainly around my t-zone as that's the oiliest part. Then i'm onto my eyebrows and for this i use Kelly Brook brow beautiful (this is am excellent copy of the benefit brow set but 10x less in price) and lastly i use Maxfactor 2000 calorie mascara which gives you beautiful natural fluttery eyelashes without the hardness!

What are your 5 must-haves?

Summer hair

When it comes to hair during winter i always neglect mine. It's always too windy or rainy to ever do anything else than throw it in a messy bun and i think the only suitable dressy do is poker straight. So when it comes to summer, my favourite thing to spend time on is hair. I love the festival look with braids and plaits and messy curls so i thought i'd share with you my style that i've been wearing non-stop lately.
Loose waves: i think this looks is so effortless and lasts for about three days if you keep onto of it by adding in slight curls and spritz of salt spray.
To do this: I used a babyliss curling iron, i'm sure if it's available to buy anymore so i found one similar here, i took different thickness' of hair from 2-5cm in width and wrapped them tightly round the rod for about 35 seconds in different directions. I chose to have the curls going the opposite way at the front of the hair so i simply just curled the hair away from my face.  after doing one section of hair i'd add a little bit of hairspray to keep in place. Then after curling all of my hair i added plenty of hairspray.
Now i didn't touch my hair afterwards, however if you like your waves to be more loose and natural just run your fingers through the curls and pull down slightly, or brush through with a wide toothed comb.

What are your favourite hair styles for spring/summer?

Welcome to my world

I thought, saying as i shared such a huge part of my life with you guys anyways, i might as well share some more with you- my room. My room is quite unusual as it is based on two separate floors: The first floor is a small box room which contains my bed and TV (as it's so tiny i can barely fit in!) And then upstairs is my loft which contains my wardrobes, dressing table and a sofa bed- this is more of a chill out dressing room. So i shall start off with my bedroom..

First of all is i suppose my 'feature' wall, as the majority of my bedroom is quite crazy i like to keep this simple so all i have on this wall is a dream catcher (which i'm obsessed with) and a washing line full of photos- i liked this idea as it allows me to keep my favourite snaps all in view so i don't forget about them!

Next are my magazine/book storage, here i keep my monthly vogues from last year and some important documents and my sketchbooks and notebooks so they're at easy reach! Next to this is my PINK ukulele which was kindly given to me as a birthday present from my lovely friends Lydia and Lucy.
This is just (obviously) my window sill which i keep a couple of Christmas cards on, my skull candle and money jar (Urban Outfitters) and a photo of me and my best friend Rebecca at our leavers prom.

Next is my bedside table (can you notice the reoccurring white theme?) on here is a photo of my mam and grandma from ageeeeees ago, a hip flask (Urban Outfitters), incense burner (camden), lantern (ikea), candle and a tiara. Me and a tiara- me and my friends have a continuous joke of me being a 'princess' and i am very precise with every detail of my life! So this was given to me as a present from my lovely friend Lydia.

These are my shelves on the other wall of my bedroom, i like to collect lots of little vintage trinket boxes that i find adorable and unique so obviously i needed somewhere to put them all, i also keep all of my jewelry in these boxes and my necklaces hanging on door hooks! There are also a few perfumes and keepsakes (such as my tiffany's bag).

Next up is my loft dressing room:

This is one half on my wardrobe- now i couldn't find a wardrobe that would fit nicely in my room so my dad (very kindly) put up some rails hidden with white voil- these fit my clothes in ever so nicely. I have these along one corner of my loft.

This is a small coffee table i have alongside my sofa bed just because i think this seems cute for when people come around for small gatherings! on here i have a milk bottle and pink rose (ikea), a jam jar full of sweeties and current magazines and books i am reading. Recently i have been LOVING company, i love everything from the graphology to the guests they have every month!

And last but certainly not least is my dressing table (i blogged about this in more detail here), on here i have a small round mirror, an empty yankee candle and jam jar in which i keep my regularly used makeup brushes, a candle case which holds my everyday eye makeup, a glass jar full of my lipsticks and a acrylic organizer which holds my bare necessities when it comes to makeup! I also have some pretty bags (boux avenue and a Marylin Monroe gift bag) which holds stuff like moisturizers and deodorant! Hidden beside my dressing table i have a few small wooden draws (ikea) which i keep my eye makeup and other makeup i don't use everyday.

If you could style your room in anyway, how would you do it?
